As the summer is upon us and the ground is quickening up, our multi-purpose horses have begun to run on the flat and have done us serious justice. BAILARICO has now won his last three starts on the flat, being victorious over 1m6f again last Monday. This time he ran at Nottingham, once again piloted by Ed Greatrex. BAILARICO showed fantastic attitude striding out well in the final furlong and sticking his neck out to win. He has been a huge success since buying him after he won an Open Maiden point-to-point at Barbury Castle. He seems to love winning and is a joy to train. He will hopefully keep getting his head in front for the great Fitorfat Racing Partnership.

The second of our flat horses to win was BODES WELL at Haydock on Saturday in the 1m Maiden Stakes. He was ridden by Tom Greatrex the brother of our previous winning jockey and also son of trainer. Tom made all on BODES WELL until he was challenged by a late surge from the Queen’s horse, Strategist, two furlongs from the finish. They fended off this attack accelerating clear by two and a half lengths at the line. This is Tom’s first win as an Apprentice Jockey, and it is great for him to get this under his belt. BODES WELL has come out of the race very well and we will look to run him on the flat again in the near future.
