BODES WELL wins over hurdles

 In Latest News

Last Friday The Spero Partnership’s BODES WELL made all to win the 2m1f Juvenile Hurdle at Fontwell under Gavin Sheehan. This was the first win for him over obstacles and he did it with style, pulling clear by eight lengths at the line. He has been a solid performer since we bought him at the beginning of last season and has now won on the flat and over jumps. He seems to prefer the quicker ground and the racing this time of year suited him well. It is the first time Gavin has ridden him in a race and they appeared to compliment each other well.  The video below is of the finish and shows the comfortable victory they had in hand on Friday.

It is great to have dual purpose horses in the yard as options are kept open all year round. We will look to run BODES WELL soon if the ground stays as it is, but if not there are always flat opportunities.

Early work

Last week, a majority of the horses did their first bit of proper work up the Back Of The Hill. It is fantastic to report that they are all in great nick and worked well. We are a few weeks off some of them running now and we can’t wait to get our teeth into the season.
