On Wednesday DON’T ASK made all to win at Taunton in the 2m3f Novice Hurdle under Richard Johnson. This is the second win over hurdles this year for this consistent horse who has just hit the crossbar on his other runs. This time, Dickie kept him out the front and was able to fend off good efforts from the horse of Jack Barber’s. DON’T ASK has taken well to obstacles and we can’t wait to see him over fences next season. He is sure to give his owner’s Walters Plant Hire, James & Jean Potter some more great times ahead.

Wednesday saw the emergence of a very exciting young recruit who we purchased last summer. EMITOM was bought by Tessa and the Spero Partnership took ownership of him earlier this year. Wednesday was his first ever appearance on a racecourse and he showed what we had all hoped from his work at home. The Bumper at Warwick was a heavily competitive one with horses costing upwards of 200 thousand. EMITOM was given a great ride by Andrew Tinkler, who kept him in touch throughout and then took the lead two furlongs from the finish to come home one and three quarter lengths clear of the remainder. We very much look forward to seeing what this exciting youngster can achieve in the coming season.
