LA BAGUE AU ROI Wins A Grade One

 In Latest News

On Boxing Day, LA BAGUE AU ROI catapulted herself into superstardom by winning the Grade One 32Red Kauto Star Novices’ Chase on King George Day at Kempton. The three-mile test is built to showcase the best young chasers in the country and pit the bright stars of the future against each other. There is no doubt that this race was full of serious talent and the strength in depth of the field was a great sight to behold.

LA BAGUE AU ROI was once again piloted by the Champion Jockey and the two complement each other a huge amount. Their belief in each other is a fantastic thing to see and it is great to see such a good coupling on the track. They raced on the outer of the field but kept up with the pace throughout. Her jumping was electric and her speed through the air is and incredible sight. They took the lead at the 12th but were challenged and then headed three out by Topofthegame and Harry Cobden of Paul Nicholls. They battled hard over the last three fences and LA BAGUE jumped back into the lead over the last to stay on very gamely and come out on top by one and a half lengths.

This is the third Grade One for the yard and our first over fences. This mare is very special to us indeed and we are extremely lucky to be able to train her. A huge thank you has to go to her owners Mrs Julien Turner and The Merriams who bought her from France as a foal and have been great owners for us. There should be even better times to come for our ‘Wondermare. She is a fan of a flat track and therefore Cheltenham may not ever be on the cards but there are plenty of other fantastic races to get stuck into. The celebrations in the yard were wild and it was definitely the best Christmas present we could ask for.

Everyone at Warren Greatrex Racing hopes that you have had a wonderful Christmas and would like to wish you all a Happy New Year. We have a had fun packed and successful 2018 with winners and great times. Let’s hope that 2019 will be just as fruitful with another great year.
