On Saturday STAR OF LANKA defied his penalty to win his second novice hurdle on the bounce. He was piloted by Gavin Sheehan and once again ran in the 2m3f at Hereford. They kept up with the pace and remained prominent throughout. STAR OF LANKA jumped and galloped well battling it out with two decent horses at the end to come out on top. There was then 15 lengths back to the next of the 16 runner field.

This horse looks to be quite good and a multitude of options now lie ahead of him. Well done to our secretary Karen who has been riding him out every day and also congratulations to owners, J&R Eynon, Little, Roberts, Dowley & Turner. They look to have a very nice horse indeed.

The International 2018

Although we didn’t bag a winner at Cheltenham at the weekend we saw some very good performances at the home of jumps racing.
KEEPER HILL ran a great race finishing second of a large field in the 3m handicap hurdle on Friday. It is fantastic to see him back in form and we can’t wait to get him out again and see what he will do next time.
PETTICOAT TAILS also ran well to finish third in the OLBG Mares’ Handicap Hurdle on Saturday. She is brilliant in these races and looks to be just as tenacious as she was last year.
WESTERN RYDER once again showed us how much he loves Cheltenham in the feature hurdle on Saturday. He finished third in the 2m1f Grade 2 International Hurdle and even though the ground may have gone against him due to the rain that day he ran a blinder.

Back Of The Hill

Even though the weather has got a lot colder the horses are still out and being exercised. The younger horses are forwarding their education and this week went up the grass on The Back Of The Hill. Below you can see some of them after and also some older horses.
