WELLNTYNE

William Tilly’s WELLNTYNE won on his debut run at Bangor-On-Dee in the bumper on Tuesday. The 5-year-old gelding, who was also bred by owner Mr W Tilly and broken in/pretrained by his daughter Tuffy, gave a positive display in the two mile contest, beating favourite LE BOULEVARDIER into second place by 3 ¾ lengths. Under the control of jockey Gavin Sheehan, he was held behind the leaders of the field and travelled incredibly well. About three furlongs from home the duo began to make headway, taking the lead with just two furlongs out and maintained this position right up until the line, finishing confidently. This was a great result for everyone involved and very exciting to see WELLNTYNE secure his first victory. It is wonderful for him to get this win also due to this horse being home-bred and cared for by the family until he was sent into full training at our yard. They are a fantastic family and deserve the success for their hard work.
