A DOUBLE AT CARTMEL AND VILLAGE MASTER DOES IT AGAIN
A DOUBLE AT CARTMEL
Last Wednesday was a brilliant day up at Cartmel as SHANTWOPOINTFIVE and SHILLANAVOGY secured a DOUBLE under James Bowen for their owners the Both Ways Partnership.
SHANTWOPOINTFIVE kicked things off in the Traffic Management Handicap Hurdle over 2m 6f. Having won her Maiden Hurdle at this meeting last year over the same trip, and having been running consistently well all season, our hopes were high heading into this race. Shantwopointfive definitely did not disappoint, showing her usually hardy attitude to travel strongly and jump neatly throughout the race, coming to lead with ease before the last and staying on strongly to come home in front by 3 and a half lengths! This little mare always gives Jim and Claire & Ray and Mary of the Both Ways Partnership something to shout about at the races, and what she lacks in size, she definitely makes up for with attitude! Plenty more to come from her for sure.
SHILLANAVOGY wasn’t long in turning a good day into a great day when WINNING the Womens Community Matter Handicap Chase over 2m 1f. Shillanavogy has also been in very good consistent form all year, and has now shown himself to be really versatile over what trip he can not only run over, but win over! He travelled strongly throughout this race and jumped with his usual enthusiaam to come home best 6 and half lengths ahead of the rest of the field. Yet again well done to owners the Both Ways Partnership, who alternate their racing silks run-by-run, so it was really fun to see them each get a win in their colours!
VILLAGE MASTER WINS AT STRATFORD
VILLAGE MASTER really loves this time of year, having won 5 races back-to-back over the summer months last year, and he looks to be on track to do the same again!
Having won his previous run at Fontwell, Village Master this time made the trip to Stratford on Saturday to run in the Supporting Dogs For Good Handicap Chase over 2m 5f. This time partnered by James Bowen, Village Master jumped impeccably and stayed on really well under pressure to WIN readily by 2 and a quarter lengths.
Well done to owners Jim and Claire Bryce & Robin and Jill Eynon who should have a really fun summer ahead with this horse.
Thank you again to the fantastic team at home who are keeping up a fantastic strike rate of 56% of horses running to form- long may it continue!
