A TRIO OF WINNERS

LUNAR ORBIT WINS AT MARKET RASEN

LUNAR ORBIT was the first part of our quick-fire across the card double last Thursday. He ran at Market Rasen in the PricedUp The Jumps Juvenile Hurdle over 2 miles with Sean Bowen on board.

Lunar Orbit had shown some good form in previous races, both on the flat and over hurdles, and we knew it was only a matter of time before the penny dropped and he got his head in front.  Following a wind op, he went off a short- priced favourite and did everything right throughout the race. He settled, travelled well and jumped with great accuracy. Two hurdles from home, Sean made his move and the pair pressed the leaders before leading narrowly before the last hurdle and coming home strongly to win by three-quarters of a length.

Warren and Tessa bought Lunar Orbit as a 2-year-old from the breeze up sales for owners Jim and Claire Bryce with the view that he would make up into a nice hurdler in time, and so it is really satisfying for all parties that the plan has come to fruition. He is just getting started and will grow in confidence for the win, so we are very much looking forward to seeing what he does next!

MILOU DU CHENET WINS AT WINCANTON

Just 20 minutes after Lunar Orbit won at Market Rasen, MILOU DU CHENET was making only his second ever appearance on a racetrack at Wincanton. He lined up in the Racing Blogger EBF Junior NH Hurdle over 2 miles partnered again by James Bowen.

Having won so emphatically on his first run at Bangor- on- Dee only 3 weeks before, Milou Du Chenet this time had to carry a 7lb penalty which is a tough task for any horse. However, Milou had come out of his previous race incredibly well, and so Warren and James had no qualms about taking on this challenge.

Milou and James had do it the hard way, making the running from flag fall, and although Milou showed signs of greenness at times, he nevertheless put in another impressive performance and did not see another rival throughout the race- coming home comfortably 3 and a half lengths ahead of the second horse.

Jim and Claire Bryce clearly have a very smart horse in Milou Du Chenet and he will be carefully handled to ensure we see the very best of him not only this season but for the rest of his very bright future.

KEEP RUNNING WINS AT SANDOWN

KEEP RUNNING headed to Sandown on Friday to line up in the Betfair Handicap Chase over 2 miles, again partnered by his usual jockey James Bowen- and didn’t they put on a breathtaking performance?!

You would be hard pressed to find a more enthusiastic round of jumping from a horse- Keep Running was in his element! The pair soon led the rest of the field, who did not stand a chance against Keep Running’s strong travelling and exuberant jumping. With only one bad mistake on the way round- when Keep Running really did get carried away and landed nearly on top of the fence- luckily James managed to sit tight and the pair annihilated the opposition- coming home 18 lengths ahead of their nearest rival!

It was a joy to see Keep Running enjoy himself so much throughout the race, and his very proud owner Mrs Julie Fowler was in the Winners Enclosure to greet him after the race.

Well done to all the team at home, the horses are in fantastic form thanks to everyone’s hard work and hopefully we will continue this run of good fortune for the rest of the season.
