MILOU DU CHENET WINS AT BANGOR

MILOU DU CHENET made a hugely impressive start to his career last Wednesday at Bangor-On-Dee WINNING the Crest Solutions EBF Junior National Hunt Hurdle 2 miles under a very confident ride from James Bowen.

Milou Du Chenet traveled and jumped eye-catchingly throughout the contest and on turning into the home straight, James urged his mount on and the pair stretched on easily away from their rivals- coming home an eventual 5 and a half lengths ahead of their nearest rival!

Milou Du Chenet is a strong 3-year-old son of Choeur Du Noir who Tessa purchased for Jim and Claire Bryce from the Arqana Summer Sale last year, with the intention of targeting these races, so it is brilliant that he has made such a good start to his career. He will be one to watch this season and beyond!

HERAKLES WESTWOOD AND GAELIC PRIDE RUN BLINDERS AT CHELTENHAM

This weekend we had a hugely exciting couple of days at Cheltenham with HERAKLES WESTWOOD and GAELIC PRIDE both finishing second in their respective races.

HERAKLES WESTWOOD lined up on Saturday in the Debenhams Amateur Jockeys’ Handicap Chase 3m 1f under Irish Jockey Mr Adrian Maguire for owners All Above Board Racing Syndicate. It was Herakles Westwood’s seasonal debut and he traveled and jumped with huge enthusiasm, staying on strongly to come home just 3 and three quarters lengths behind the winners.

Herakles Westwood is now establishing himself as a real staying chaser, and a likely target before the New Year will be the Welsh National.

GAELIC PRIDE then took his turn on Sunday, running in the mallaradjewellers.com Maiden Hurdle over 2 miles on only his second start over hurdles. James Bowen was in the drivers seat this time riding for owners Franklin and Gurney. The pair were prominent throughout the race and jumped really slickly, battling hard all the way up the run in to be beaten only half a length by a horse of Dan Skelton’s.

Gaelic Pride is showing a really high level of class very early on in his career and there are sure to be plenty of fun days ahead.
