HIDALGO DES BORDES WINS ON CHASING DEBUT

 In Latest News

The whole team was delighted to see Hidalgo Des Bordes win on Chasing Debut last Friday night at Exeter- as a yard favourite, it is always a good day when you are riding Hidalgo!

During the season, Hidalgo had been running over Hurdles, but it was clear to see he would revel in jumping a fence, being so accurate and enthusiastic at home over the bigger obstacles.

On Friday then he got his chance, when running in the Heavitree Brewery Novices’ Handicap Chase 2m 1f at Exter under James Bowen. Hidalgo’s jumping really kept him in the game throughout the race, gaining lengths in the air and taking up the lead approaching the last fence, and then skipping clear on landing to win easily by 11 lengths!

Congratulations to his owners The Luck Family, in particular James Luck, who regularly rides out for us and has done his fair share of the work riding on Hidalgo himself! The Luck’s look like they are going to have plenty of fun with Hidalgo over the coming months and years, a journey which we are delighted to be a part of!

The horses are in flying form and are running really well… Here’s hoping to a few more winners this week to end our season on a high!
