JARAMILLO WINS!

Last Thursday saw Jaramillo head up to Sedgefield to take his place in the BBC Novice Handicap Hurdle over 2m 4f, which was his first try at this longer trip. Jaramillo is a horse with plenty of talent, and has knocked on the door on a few previous occasions without managing to get his head in front- however, last Thursday was his day!!!

Conor O’Farrell gave Jaramillo a great front- running ride, and they made all throughout the race, hurdling beautifully and ultimately bounding home by 2 and a half lengths! The step up in trip definitely helped this horse, and it is so great to see him finally win, he really deserved it!

It was also fantastic to see so many of Jaramillo’s Owners Group Syndicate Members at the racecourse to support him, he got a huge round of applause when he came back to the paddock, which he really loved!

ICI LA REINE WINS AGAIN!

Saturday saw Ici La Reine  and Dylan Kitts return to the scene of their first success- Newcastle, to run in the Vertem Mares’ Open National Hunt Flat Race where this time they carried a 7lbs penalty for winning last time.

Dylan sat Ici La Reine in the middle of the field where they traveled really strongly throughout, and when the front horse quickened away turning into the home straight, Ici La Reine gave chase and found herself in a 3- way battle to the line, where she chased down the front horse and came home in front by a neck, and half a length.

Ici La Reine has now proven herself to be not only talented, but tough as well, and is a really exciting prospect going forwards for her owners Nicky Turner, and Jean and Andrew Merriam . Well done to Dylan for giving her such a cool and confident ride, and a perfect introduction to her racing career!
