THEYSEEKHIMTHERE WINS ON HURDLING DEBUT

Last Tuesday saw Theyseekhimthere head to Lingfield for his debut over Hurdles, and whilst we thought he would run creditably, we thought he would need the experience- you can imagine how over the moon and delighted we were when he won!!!

Theyseekhimthere has always been a huge frame of a horse from when Warren and Tess bought him as a 3-year-old for his owners The BadJams5 Syndicate. Horses like ‘Big John’ take time and careful training to get them to the racetrack, as well as a lot of patience and understanding from the owners to allow the horse to progress and develop at their own pace.

The BadJams5 Syndicate have allowed plenty of time, with ‘Big John’ only having one run in a Bumper last March as a 5-year-old where he learnt plenty before putting him away for the Summer to allow him to strengthen up and mature again.  With the summer under his belt, Theyseekhimthere came back in having filled out and definitely a lot more street-wise having had his run in a Bumper. All that said, however, Theyseekhimthere is a true Chaser in the making, and having schooled very well at home,  he was still expected to need the experience over Hurdles before we saw him at his best.

During  the EBF National Hunt Novices’ Hurdle 2m 3f,  you could see the penny starting to drop, and after a few clumsy jumps early in the race he became slicker and really started to travel into the race, swinging round the home bend with full momentum and flying the last 2 hurdles to chase down the leader and really grind out the gruelling conditions to lead in the shadows of the post. A brilliant ride by Sean Bowen, and a brilliant result to all of the BadJams5 Syndicate, who have plenty to look forward to with ‘Big John’ who is half-brother to the very classy Sporting John who was trained by Philip Hobbs.

Well done to all involved, and  especially to Andy, Bob, Jon, Dean, Andy, Vicki and Mark who are The BadJams5 Syndicate!

JAMES JET WINS AT UTTOXETER

Saturday then saw the team head to Uttoxeter Racecourse with 3 horses, all of whom were in the Winners Enclosure after their respective races, finally with JAMES JET coming out on top and landing the spoils in the Direct Commercial Flooring Handicap Hurdle 2m 4f.

A great day in atrocious conditions, James Jet led from flag-fall, and really used his jumping and relentless gallop to get the rest of the field in trouble, who all came off the bridle one by one behind him. When Hi Riko of Richard Hobson’s callenged James Jet 2 out, he battled on gamely all the way to the line and went on to win by a head.

James Jet is a horse who we have always really liked, and will be seen at his best at 3 miles over Fences in the future, so to win over this much reduced trip and over hurdles really is testament to his ability and attitude, as well as a brilliantly judged ride from James Bowen!

Really pleased for his owners Clemmie and Steve, for who this is a first winner in their new colours, and for Baby Hughie who had his first taste of the Winners Enclosure and Winning Celebrations!

SHARES AVAILABLE IN CRIMSON RUBY

Fantastic Opportunity to become a part of the friendly and fun Velocity Racing NH Syndicate who have the lovely Crimson Ruby in training with us.

Crimson Ruby is coming on in leaps and bounds and has gathered experience with each of her runs so far. We liked her last season, but over summer she has really strengthened up and ran a lovely race on debut this season over Hurdles. She then backed that up on Saturday at Uttoxeter to finish 2nd in a Novice Hurdle over 2 miles where she loved the tough going conditions. She will now be given her Handicap Mark, and is sure to be very competitive and provide lots of fun for her owners for the rest of the seaosn.

We have a few shares available which would make an ideal Christmas Present for any racing fan!

Enjoy Syndicate visits to the yard to see Crimson Ruby in her work at home, Syndicate lunches, and Owners Badges on Racedays!
