Velocity Racing NH Have Their First Runner
Last Thursday was a very exciting day for New Syndicate Velocity Racing NH, who had their first runner under National Hunt Rules.
Velocity Racing is run by Harry Dunlop, who trained horses on the flat for the syndicate before his retirement from the training ranks. However, Harry is far from retired, and one of his latest ventures was to launch the Velocity Racing NH Syndicate, who at present have a lovely 5 year-old Soldier Of Fortune mare by the name of Crimson Ruby in training.
Crimson Ruby has been in training with Warren since November, and has always shown a lovely willing attitude towards her work, and it was great to see her at the racecourse for the first time.
Crimson Ruby took the whole day in her stride, and was very calm and relaxed in the preliminaries. There were 16 runners in the Mares’ NH Flat Race at Huntingdon, where Crimson Ruby, ridden by Brendan Powell was given a lovely introduction to racing. She showed some greenness during the race, but showed a lovely attitude and galloped all the way to the line. She will learn plenty from her first race, and we expect her to take a big step forwards during her next run- one to look out for!
It was also great to see so many of the Syndicate Members at the racecourse to support their mare- a great day had by all!
